Creator Spotlight- Ventigoth

It is not often that we expose the dark parts of ourselves to the rest of the world. We want to let others in, but we also want to be accepted. So we go about our existence showing only the parts of ourselves that we think will be well-received. It wasn’t until we stumbled upon Ventigoth’s work that we realized how beautiful our rough edges can truly be.

Throughout the years Carlos Gallegos, also known as Ventigoth, has mastered the art of deceiving the superficial mind. To the unsuspecting onlooker his images could portray a seemingly normal life, but his concepts are anything but traditional. Pain, lust, deceit; these are all taboo themes that lurk between the layers of every frame; a truly beautiful way of highlighting humanities faults and illnesses in a whimsical manner.

With that being said, Ventigoth’s work does not always revolve around themes with shadowy undertones. Just like anyone, our existence jumps through a colorful spectrum of emotions. This beautiful ombre of our existence is shown through the artist’s portfolio, making it so that in order to truly understand his unique point of view, one must look at his journey as a whole. A special way of appreciating someone’s craft, in which you must dive into each piece individually and put it together like a storybook. In order for the story to make sense one must read it in its entirety, from beginning to end.

In a way, it reminds us of our own process. We cannot be defined by a single moment or still-frame in our lives. It is the many different phases of ourselves that make us who we are.
